The California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) and California Science Test (CAST) standardized assessment test scores were publicly released in October. Union School District scores have continued to outperform both state and Santa Clara County averages, as well as many neighboring districts.

Taken by students in grades 3-8 this past Spring, this annual assessment is given to public school students in the State of California in grades 3-8, and again in grade 11. The district’s student assessment data for the 2023-24 school year highlights the percentage of students who met or exceeded the state standards in English Language Arts, Mathematics, and Science.

Recently presented at the October meeting of the Board of Trustees, staff highlighted the data from the spring’s assessments and outlined areas of focus and how USD has introduced new strategies to continue to provide student support in specific content areas.
