Dear Union School District Families,
I am thrilled to welcome you to the 2023-24 school year in Union School District (USD). The dedicated and compassionate USD staff have been hard at work this summer preparing for the return of approximately 5,400 students to our school campuses. We are excited to welcome students and families back to campus for the first day of school on Wednesday, August 16th.
Throughout this school year, there will be ample opportunities to make connections, be involved and hear about the great work happening in our classrooms, schools and school district community. You can always look forward to receiving a monthly newsletter from me called the USD School Bell that highlights our USD students, staff, schools and our exemplar programs, District updates and the united work to support our students, staff, families and community. In this first Welcome Back to School edition, you will find information below containing the beginning of the year district updates regarding how to prepare for the start of the new school year, upcoming calendar events, and school and District resources. In the next week, you will also receive information from your child/students' school principal as to specific information as it relates to your child’s school. As always, questions will come up throughout the year, and staff is always available and eager to support as we work collaboratively together to support every student in USD to enjoy the learning experiences that will unfold this year.
I am honored to be partnering with you as USD’s school Superintendent and on behalf of all of us in USD, we are excited to welcome you on Wednesday, August 16th for the first day of school! It is going to be another great year for building relationships, learning and continued student growth.
