Bring your whole family and join the fun at our USD community event with families and staff members from all eight Union School District schools. Acts of kindness will be our focal point with opportunities for our USD community to connect with one another and celebrate the bonds that bring us together. In USD, we continue to create opportunities for community connections.
Blessings in a Backpack
When you come to the event, please bring by any shelf-stable foods for our new program, which provides a backpack full of food for students in need each Friday. While USD provides free breakfast and lunch at school during the week that benefits all students, many families experience food challenges over the weekends, and this new program aims to provide food for students who may need extra support.
Electronic Waste Recycling
Have any e-waste sitting at home? Bring for recycling provided by Green E-Waste Recycling Center with proceeds generated from the e-waste going directly back to supporting our students in need in USD and USD programs.
Socktober Sock Collection
An extension of many of our school drives–bring by any pairs of new socks which will be collected for the Family Supportive Housing Shelter.
Home & School Club Games
Our Union School District HSCs will be hosting games with prizes led by students and parent volunteers.
Positive Pumpkin Well Wishes & Cards
Share messages of positive wishes for our community neighbors at Belmont Village Senior Living and Almaden Health & Rehab Center. We are fortunate to have welcomed new neighbors to our community and want to share what makes Union School District such a kind and caring place to live and work. We are also eager to develop positive relationships with those who have recently made a change in their life by moving into the senior care center.
Book Exchange Booth
Do you have any wonderful childrens books to trade or share? Donate, select, and read books together at the book exchange booth. All you need to do is bring a book to the event to swap for a new book of your choice for free.
Food Trucks & Music
Food trucks will be there for the whole family, and a DJ special guest will be playing tunes throughout the event.
